Central Asia.
I was invited by the Swiss embassy in Astana to visit Kazakhstan, the central asian republic and ninth biggest country in the world. It was a 10 days short visit only and naturally one only gets to see little of such a big country.
We’ve spent a few days in the south, in the former capital Almaty and travelled the city, steppe, mountains, lakes and canyons from there. Afterwards we took a flight to the north and visited Astana, new capital and modern, impressive city in the middle of nowhere. Here are some impressions.
